WE HAVE 8 SECONDS

I was looking through the library again… Old books, old notebooks… I picked up a notebook when a page fell out. The notebook was my philosophy notebook, and the fallen page was a homework paper… My teacher liked it very much and wrote something next to the note…

In order to make the most of every second, you must first find your purpose in life.

Did you find it?

I loved my teacher very much and it was very enjoyable to study with him, think of  questions and then answer them. I still hear his voice;

“Children say, ‘If there are no questions in life, there are no answers’ and the questions you ask are so important. Because you are curious about that question, you care about that question and you move towards that question.”

How right my teacher was…

I was busy with the answer to whatever I asked life.

When I was a senior in high school, I asked what I needed to do for the university exam, learned the answer and formed solutions accordingly.

I started internships at software companies before I graduated. Because I had asked myself the question of “what I should do after finishing school?” and had turned to a solution. I had not asked that question and turned it into a problem. I had formed whatever was necessary into reasons.

Because you get what you pay for :)

I had seen that the more effort I put into business life and the more experienced I become, the faster I could enter.

I had this mindset even when I got married. “Yes, I wanted to get married, but why? What was my purpose in marriage? What did I want from this man and most importantly, what did I expect from myself?”

That's why, even before we got married, I had listed to my husband why I wanted to get married, what I wanted and what I could give him... For twenty years, even when we had the slightest argument, I would immediately say "I told you so". Because our questions and answers were clear.

Now, here, I just looked at this paper and thought about what caused what and remembered my teacher with love once more.

I started reading the essay I wrote...

“We have eight seconds in this world. So, are we aware of this?”

I asked a good question as a high school student...

Back then, we couldn't just type it on the internet and find the answer. That's why we had to ask someone who knew and go to a library. But now it's easy... I typed it on my phone and read how it was calculated.

One full rotation of the sun takes 220 million years in earth years. In other words, one year of the sun means 220 million years in earth years. In simple terms, the life of a person who lives 70 years on earth is only 8 seconds in solar years.

The calculation is as follows; 'The earth completes its rotation around the sun in one year. In other words, in 365 days... In other words, 365 in 24 hours, 31 million 536 in seconds... This figure is the duration of 1 rotation of the earth around the sun. And the average human lifespan is only 8 seconds in this world according to the calculation in solar years and it is gone.

In another place;

The average lifespan of a person is 73 years in solar time, 8 seconds and 3 milliseconds, that's all! 2 seconds of these 8 seconds are childhood, 4 seconds are marriage, business life, etc. and 2 seconds of it pass with old age, senility and of course the bending of the back, the stiffness of the knees, the shaking of the hands, sometimes memory loss... In other words, a life in need of support.

I started counting at that moment. One… Two… Three… Four… Five… Six… Seven…

And eeeiiight…

It’s over… I said to myself ‘How short it was’…

So, had I answered my teacher’s question during this process?

What was my goal in life?

When I thought about it, I found only one answer.

I became someone who knew what I did and why, who pursued the truth and always tried to ask the right questions.

-Is there only one good and right?

-What are the things that are real and make me happier and more successful than yesterday and how can I reach them?

-How do I become a good person and what do I gain from being good?

My questions were endless…

Because as long as a person lives, they are curious, ask questions and seek answers. The point is to ask the right question, be curious and move forward after it. The wisest thing to do during your journey is to always benefit from previous experiences…

And now I understand that my teacher was one of the best examples of this.

Think about it, kids…

If there is no question, there is no answer, but what should we do to ask the question? We need to think with our consciousness open…

Or, in order not to chase after absurd questions… “Does this girl love me? Does that handsome guy have a girlfriend? How can I get my family to buy those red shoes? What excuse should I make up to the teacher if I don’t do my homework?”

By the way, being conscious is not just about having your eyes open…

There is looking then there is seeing… And there is seeing what you are looking at… Let’s see, write an article next week about what you see in the places you look at and we will answer it with pleasure. I will ask the question and you will answer it…

Here is your question… ‘Do we really see what we are looking at?’

Hasn’t it become so difficult for human beings to see the truth and ask the question of the truth?
