LANGUAGE OF LIFE

- Ah Seval, isn’t this Gamze from our common literature class?

- Yes, yes, she is. Let’s go and say hello.

These two young girls, who put on their smiles and went to greet Gamze when they saw her at the cafe they went to for lunch, would soon realize this: Gamze was talking to her father on the phone, and she was lying. “No problem,” Seval thought. “Who doesn’t lie to their father once in a while?”

However, it wasn’t for nothing that life showed her this scene…

Life flows by at a rapid pace, like crazy water flowing through a river. And everything that happens in front of our eyes tells us something. But we don’t really notice the messages in these narrations. In fact, we don’t even realize that we’ve never thought about it until today…

If we had thought, maybe we could understand that what we hear is not what we know.

In fact, even our health sends us signals and signs before it deteriorates. For example, when we consume a little too much junk food, we have acid reflux because of the additives in it. We try to get over this refux with soda, instead of relieving our distress, we just ignore it. Not noticing this warning can cause the most dangerous stomach problems.

Or as in this story, witnessing someone lying can actually tell you a lot…

Esra and Seval overheard their friend talking on the phone and were trying to decide how to react.

When Esra saw Gamze hang up the phone and then smile smugly as if nothing had happened, she couldn’t resist.

- Why did you lie? You can laugh so easily at that, how can you be so careless?

Gamze said with blank eyes:

-  Why do you care? Do I have to explain myslef to you?

Our girls were angry. “Don’t you ever think, when these fake words come out of your mouth, where will they lead?” Seval said.

How could she know that what she said would come back and hurt her? She stopped for a moment and repeated them, thinking those words over and over again, “Don’t you ever think?”

She stood there speechless. “What happened?” her friend asked, but she had to collect her thoughts before answering. At that moment, she had actually confronted herself. When she was really stuck, she would lie to her mother and then never think about it again. She hadn’t realized that what she had done looked so ugly from the outside. She was just objecting to a mistake she had seen, and she had realized this. Nothing was meaningless, just like coming here during lunch break, everything, everything had a reason. It was as if life was talking to her through the events she had experienced…

When she collected himself, she said the following to her friend.

- You know, life has a language. Sometimes we say, if only this life had a customer service, we could send an e-mail, say “Excuse me, we couldn’t understand this part at all, can you e-mail us the user manual? So we can fix whatever our mistake is…” Okay, maybe there is no e-mail address that we can ask directly, but it really does have a language. It is talking to us through the events we have experienced…

There are many aspects to the event we are experiencing here today. For example, I was going to invite this girl to our group for the project given by the teacher in literature class. But now I understand that she is someone who lies every time she gets stuck... She will also let us down and lie. Life literally just said to me, think of someone else. I am showing you the real face of this person.

There is another side to the story. Sometimes, in order to make us realize the mistakes we make, to make us think about how our actions look from the outside, it brings us someone else who does the same thing. It makes us think, “Am I really like this?” You are shown someone like you so that you can abandon that false behaviour. This is life talking to us.

Maybe it did not give me this information in writing, but it sent me universal signs that anyone in my shoes would understand. It forced me to think...

Life actually tries to show us the truth. But we want to escape from the pain so much that we ignore the lesson it teaches and immediately cover it up. If this girl lied here today, tomorrow she will be shown how ugly someone who lies looks from the outside. And life will expect her to make a choice. Should we continue lying? Or is that enough, okay?...

- My friend, did you just think of all of this? Now I understand why you got stuck. Very accurate observations, how nice.

“I also always had a question mark in my mind about Ali. So from now on, I will try to collect the correct data;

Is Ali the right person?

How resilient is he to difficulties?

How much of a man of his word is he?

I will think to understand what life is trying to tell me. But in the meantime, time has flown by, we don't have time to eat lunch... So what message is life giving us in this situation?”

- Enough, tell your throat to stop, you already have enough fat. Could it be that it is saying don't eat lunch for a while 😊

- You hit the nail on the head, come on, let's go 😊
